VoxInk is designed to be useful from day one — no sign-up, no account, no credit card. The Free plan gives you local and cloud transcription with a weekly word limit. Upgrade to Pro, Premium, Student, or Educator to unlock unlimited words, custom templates, and advanced features like PII redaction.

Students get Premium-level features at a fraction of the cost. Your license covers the remaining years of your program.

Educator

• $299 lifetime — one-time payment
• Requires verification via a .edu email or institution

For teachers, lecturers, and clinical educators. Includes unlimited words, unlimited templates, and a lifetime option. Apply via the Education page.

Free Trial

Every new installation starts with a 14-day free trial that gives you the full VoxInk experience:

• Unlimited words
• Full feature access
• No credit card required
• No account needed

After the trial ends, your plan falls back to the Free tier unless you subscribe. You won't lose any data — you just return to the 2,000 words/week limit and basic cleanup styles.

Activating a License

From the App

1. Click the VoxInk icon in the menu bar and go to License → Enter License Key
2. Paste your license key into the text field
3. Click Activate
4. Your plan updates immediately — no restart required

Purchasing a License

1. Click the VoxInk icon in the menu bar and go to License → Go Pro or Go Premium
2. Or visit voxink.app/pricing directly
3. Choose your plan and complete checkout via Stripe
4. Your license key is automatically applied to the app

Managing Your Subscription

Billing Portal

Access your billing portal at any time:

• Menu bar → License → Manage Subscription
• Opens Stripe's customer portal where you can:

• Update your payment method
• Change your plan (upgrade or downgrade)
• View and download invoices
• Cancel your subscription

Deactivating a Machine

If you're switching to a new computer or need to free up a license seat:

1. Click the VoxInk icon in the menu bar
2. Go to License → Deactivate This Machine
3. Confirm the deactivation

This removes the current machine from your license. You can re-activate later by entering your license key on a new machine.

Referral Program

Earn free months (or cash) by referring others to VoxInk:

1. Find your referral link in the menu bar under Refer a Friend
2. Share your link with colleagues, classmates, or friends
3. When someone downloads and subscribes using your link, you both benefit

Rewards depend on the plan your referral subscribes to:

• Monthly or yearly plans: earn 1–2 months free per referral
• Lifetime plans: earn a cash reward per referral

Education / Student Signup

1. Click Education / Student in the menu bar, or visit voxink.app/edu
2. Enter your name, .edu email address, and role (student or educator)
3. If you're a student, enter your expected graduation year
4. Submit the form — you'll receive a verification email
5. Click the verification link in your email to activate your student license
