Push-to-Talk Dictation

Hold down Ctrl or Alt, speak, release. Your words appear instantly in whatever app you're using — no switching windows, no copy-pasting. The modifier key is fully customisable in settings.

Lock Mode

Double-tap your modifier key to lock dictation on — no need to keep holding. Speak for as long as you want, then double-tap again to stop and paste. In Lock Mode, you can also change the output format before pasting. Useful for longer dictation sessions.

PII Redaction

When redaction is enabled on a template, VoxInk uses a local AI model to detect personally identifiable information — names, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers, and other sensitive identifiers — and replaces them with tokens before your text is sent to the cloud for AI processing. After the cloud returns the formatted result, real values are restored locally. The cloud AI never sees your actual PII. Ideal for healthcare, legal, and any workflow where privacy matters.

Custom Templates

Format your output any way you want. Create templates for SOAP notes, contracts, meeting minutes, code documentation — anything. Dictate naturally and VoxInk formats the result using AI. You control the prompt, so you control the output. Templates are switchable on the fly in Lock Mode.

AI Cleanup

VoxInk can automatically clean up your dictation — fix grammar, remove filler words ("um", "uh"), add punctuation, and polish your text. You get clean, professional output without editing. This works with any template or without a template at all.

100% Local Option

Run everything on your machine — no internet connection needed, no data sent anywhere. The built-in local engine processes your audio entirely on-device. No servers, no third parties, no data leaving your computer. If your machine has the GPU power, you never need cloud services at all.

Bring Your Own API

Use any speech transcription or AI model provider you want. Connect your preferred cloud provider, your own self-hosted model, or any compatible API. No vendor lock-in — you control your infrastructure, your model choice, and your costs.

Custom Vocabulary

Add the words that matter to you — clinical terms, legal jargon, brand names, technical vocabulary, anything that generic dictation gets wrong. VoxInk learns your words and recognises them correctly every time. Great for specialised fields where standard dictation constantly misspells terminology.

Dictate in over 90 languages with automatic language detection. You can pin a specific language for consistent results, or translate your dictation to English on the fly. Great when your native language isn't English but your notes, documents, or code comments need to be.

Cross-Computer Dictation

Dictate on one machine, paste on another. Use VoxInk on your Mac to dictate text that appears on a remote Windows machine — or vice versa. Great for remote desktop workflows where you want to speak into your local mic but have text appear in a remote session.

VoxInk isn't tied to a specific application. It pastes your transcription directly into whatever app has focus — your browser, email client, EHR, code editor, word processor, chat app, anything. No plugins or integrations needed. If you can type in it, VoxInk can dictate into it.
